your senior tribute ad for the 2011 Bronco yearbook. A senior tribute offers
you the opportunity to highlight your senior’s accomplishments and send a
message of congratulations. Using the pictures and text you submit, the
yearbook staff will design the ad and send a proof for your approval.
This year, the last
day that we will accept orders for senior tributes is October 28, 2010 at
3 p.m. Please note that photos need to be high quality prints or

Home Access Center Information
What the is HAC? In an effort to facilitate more effective school-to-home
communication, MISD offers the Home Access Center (HAC) system. HAC allows
parents and students to view attendance, assignment and grade information
via any Internet connection.
HAC can be reached by going to
www.mckinneyisd.net and selecting the “Quick
Links” drop down window and then “Home Access Center”. Simply click on the
Home Access icon (not the words), and you will be taken to the page for
entering your unique Login ID and password. The Login ID is the same as the
unique MISD Student ID. Passwords are eight-digit, randomly assigned,
alpha-numeric codes. Most students already know their passwords.
Students new to MISD will have HAC information mailed to their home address.
Lost HAC password information can be obtained upon request from the
student's Counselor or House Principal's Secretary. These passwords will
only be given out to parents, guardians or students. |
Dress Code Reminder -- Leggings
To ensure that we are communicating campus expectations regarding the latest
dress code trends we felt a need to revisit what is appropriate dress code:
Ladies – if you wear leggings – your top must be fingertip length on all
sides. This is the same length that must be followed with skirts and shorts. |

Cell phone use limited in schools zones
during school hours
Use allowed with hands-free devices or when vehicles are stopped
McKinney City Council passed an ordinance limiting the use of mobile devices
while driving in school zones. City leaders, McKinney Police and Fire
Departments and school districts within the city worked together on the
ordinance with the goal of increasing safety measures for school zones.
Use of a mobile communication device on city streets is prohibited when the
school zone hours are in effect in the morning and afternoon for drivers of
any vehicle if the car is in motion. Hands-free devices are allowed when
using a mobile communications device in a school zone, and cell phone use is
allowed in a vehicle when it is stopped. It is permissible for passengers in
the cars to use cell phones. There are exceptions for medical, fire or
police related emergencies.
"Using a cell phone to talk or send messages while driving distracts drivers
and increases safety risks and creates a danger to school children. We want
to do everything we can to limit those risks, and this ordinance helps us
achieve that goal," said Police Chief Doug Kowalski.
Drivers caught using a cell phone to place calls or send text messages in a
school zone, without using a hands free device, and while operating a
vehicle could be subject to a $200 fine. Signs will be posted warning
drivers of the new ordinance. |
