May is "Get Fit Month" in McKinney
Mark your calendar for the Get Fit McKinney event
on May 4. The event is hosted by McKinney ISD and will be held
at Ron Poe Stadium from 6-8 PM. It's free and open to the
community. Families are welcome to take part in fun,
wellness-oriented activities like an obstacle course,
rock-climbing wall, bounce houses, the Kiwanis Family Fun Walk
and games. This eventis
a portion of a larger group of events, the McKinney Health

Our annual showcase of student projects, exhibits,
demonstrations and concerts is Thursday, March 8th
from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Let your student show you the
fantastic work they've created in their classes this year.

Get Ready for the
2012-13 School Year!
It's time to start planning schedules for next year!
Registration forms were due back to your child's Social Studies
teacher by Monday, February 27. See the information below
to help you and your child choose great classes for next year.
8thgrade
students may takeoneonline
course for high school credit during either the fall or spring
of their 8thgrade
year. This year we are offering 3 courses to choose from
(Psychology, Health and Sociology). Health is a required credit
for graduation, while psychology and sociology would be elective
credits.
Recent legislation phases out the current high school TAKS
assessments and replaces them with STARR end-of-course (EOC)
assessments beginning in the 2011-2012 school year.
