MHS 1 - Rockwall 3
The Outlook wasn't brilliant for the McKinney nine that day:
The score stood three to one, with but one inning more to play.
And then when Lee died at first, and Lipka did the same,
A sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game.
A straggling few got up to go in deep despair. The rest
Clung to that hope which springs eternal in the human breast;
They thought, if only the Lions could get but a whack at that -
We'd put up even money, now, with McKinney at the bat.
The sneer is gone from the McKinney's lip, his teeth are clenched in hate;
He pounds with cruel violence his bat upon the plate.
And now the pitcher holds the ball, and now he lets it go,
And now the air is shattered by the force of McKinney's blow.
Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
But there is no joy in McKinney - the mighty Lions have struck out. (posted 5/10/10)

In the Event of Bad Weather...
As winter sets in, so does the opportunity for inclement weather. We encourage parents to become familiar with the District's communication process in the event of bad weather. In most cases, a decision to close or delay school due to bad weather is made prior to 6 a.m.
The information will first be posted on the McKinney ISD website. The notification will also air on MET (Time Warner Channel 98). ParentLink (the automated phone calling system) will also be utilized when possible. All major television and radio stations will be notified. However, please recognize that there is often a 30-45 minute delay between the time we provide them with the information and the time it is posted.
The McKinney ISD website is the most effective way for you to determine the status of school closings. Please note, if school is not closed or delayed no information will be posted.
Home Access Center
The MISD Home Access Center will be activated beginning September 14, 2009.
